    Moffat is a borough and former spa town that is located in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. It is situated on the River Annan. The Dumfries and Galloway is one of 32 council regions of Scotland. It shares its borders with South Ayrshire, East Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire to the north, the borders to the east is county of Cumbria and England to its south.

    The most important landmark of this place is the Moffat House Hotel, which is designed by John Adam. Even 'the narrowest hotel in the world' as recorded in the Guinness Book of Records is situated here. It is the Star Hotel, which is approximately 20ft (6 m) wide. Some of the most famous eating joints here are The Limetree, Claudio's, Arietes, The Rumblin' Tum, The Balmoral and the Buccleuch.
