The word amigo is a Spanish word. It is literally translated into English as friend. If you are a serious artist (as opposed to a cartoonist), you could have your subject (that is your friend or amigo) sit absolutely still in front of you and draw his face using a sheet of paper and a pencil.
A sketch made by a serious artist invariably reflects the mood his or her subject is in at the time the sketch is made. It is not necessary for the artist to be friendly with the person whose sketch he or she is drawing, but if they are friends, the subject is more relaxed and the picture often turns out to be better than it would be if they were unknown to each other.
Many artists, however, tend to take advantage of the double benefit, namely their friendship with the subject and their creativity, and occasionally tend to come up with some of the most hilarious portraits of their friends.
