Where Is Laos?

Laos formally known as the Lao People's Democratic Republic, basically is a social republic country positioned in Southeast Asia. It shares its land borders with Myanmar and China towards the Northwest, Vietnam towards the east, Cambodia towards the south and Thailand towards the west.

Laos was established during the fourteenth century, and has been linked with the Kingdom of Lan Xang. Most of the countries section lacks sufficient infrastructure and there are no railroads in Laos. Agriculture makes up for the half of GDP and offers employment to nearly 80% of the total population.

The capital of this country is Vientiane. According to the census conducted in the year 1995 the total population of this region was 4,574,848 having an average population density of 25 per square kilometre. The census report of 1995 also stated that the total area of this region is 236,800 square kilometres.

Laos is located in South East Asia. Included as Indochina continent, together with Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar. To the north of Laos is Myanmar and China, Vietnam is to the east, Cambodia in the south of Laos and Thailand of its west part.
