According to a study that was published online in the Geophysical Research Letters, in the regard of polar trends, the Arctic sea was going through a series of enormous changes. The changes involve the diminishing matter of sea ice in the Arctic Sea. The reasons cited behind this occurrence are the addition of warm waters to the Arctic Sea along with the increasing temperature of the air. The emissions of heat-trapping gases like carbon dioxide was also causing the sea ice in the Arctic Sea to melt and it was stated by the panel (who conducted this study) that if the proportion of such gases was not eradicted to a significant extent, then there is a very likely possibility that the Arctic Sea would be devoid of any ice in the upcoming years. The estimation that was made in terms of the time of this probable happening was any time in between the year 2050 and the early decades of the 22nd century.
