    CAGS can refer to a number of things. It can be referring to Coronary artery bypass graft surgery. It is a type of surgery that is performed to bypass and improve the blood supply by using arteries and veins from different parts of the body to connect the aorta towards the coronary arteries. It is a procedure employed to treat atherosclerotic narrowing. This surgical procedure is also known as the Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery. Most people simply refer to it as a bypass surgery or a heart bypass. The procedure is very common with over five hundred such surgeries being carried out annually in the United States alone.

    The term CAGS may also refer to the Canadian Association of General Surgeons, Canadian Association of Graduate Studies, Centre for Arab Genomic Studies etc.
