What Are The Five Aspects Of The First Amendment In The Bill Of Rights In The US Constitution?

Overall the foundation of the first amendment is formed on five pillars of freedom.  Each of these pillars deals with a certain dimension of matters that form the pith of the first amendment or more precisely the first part of the ten amendments that constitute the Bill of Rights.

The first pillar of the first amendment talks about freedom of speech.  Other than some exceptional cases, the freedom of speech is applicable to every United States citizen in every situation on any issue. As for the second pillar, it concentrates on freedom of religion.  As the United States is a place of many cultures and religions, the first amendment emphasizes on the 'separation of church and state', which gives every religion equal importance and complete freedom to the followers of all religions to practice their faith.  The third pillar deals with the freedom of press.  It could be more precisely translated as freedom of media as the media is a more diverse sector of affairs.  In this realm, complete freedom is granted to the press to project the truth and not fear any kind of outside influence.  However yellow journalism is not acceptable.  The penultimate pillar is standing upon the principle of freedom of assembly – that is, no restrictions would be put on any group to assemble somewhere for any specific purpose.  Last but not the least, the first amendment grants the right to petition against the government, if one considers any actions of the government objectionable.
