Can You Give Me Some Statistics Regarding Men And Cosmetic Surgery?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

While there can be many men who will fervently debate that the number of their brethren paying visits to the cosmetic surgeon is an absolute minority, the key to most argument, statistical evidence, would suggest otherwise. Consider that the data is from a few years back, around the years 2002-2003, and you will have a fair idea of what the numbers could be today. Because with accessibility, increased spending power, and reduced costs, and multiple payment options, the numbers can logically only grow, not reduce.

According to a study done in 2002-2003, the gap between the number of women and men opting has been steadily closing. It is no longer a very big margin; changing times and trends have ensured this.

According to this study, 10 percent of the male American population opted for cosmetic surgery during the above-mentioned period, against 14 percent women. Those numbers show how narrow the gap has become. A four percent gap is not big by any stretch of imagination.

Another telephonic survey brought to light an even more startling trend. This survey, done during the same time period, showed that the number of men who were at least open to the idea of cosmetic surgery for men had jumped by 34 percent over the last decade.
