    Central Park is the name of an extremely popular, large public park situated in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. The park covers a huge area, totalling up to 1.31660 square miles. It attracts around 25 million people every year, thus making it the most visited city park in the country. Central Park is also amongst the most popular and well known parks in the world, due to its appearance in several films as well as TV shows, and what's more it has been referenced a lot in the media, most popularly as the coffee shop called 'Central Perk' in the popular TV sitcom 'Friends'.

    The functioning and supervision of park activities is done by the Central Park Conservancy, a non profit group which handles the park management as per an agreement with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
