What Is Working From Home Like With Small Children?

Answer Question

It depends on what you do, it can be awful or it can be good.

If you have children and you want to work at home during the free time that you have just earning a few pounds it is possible to do various jobs such as envelope stuffing, typing, card making or freelance writing.

You need to set up part of your home which is your work area, as it is still a good idea to separate your work from your home life. A home office or workshop is ideal if you have the space. If not, a rearrangement of the understairs space, or a desk in the corner of a spare bedroom is an alternative.

Working at home by yourself or whilst looking after small children can be very lonely and it is important not to become too isolated. Can you combine home working with something that gets you out of the house and meeting other people. Toddler groups are not everyone's cup of tea ~ if its not yours, don't go to them. Take your children to the park and chat to other parents. Run a car boot sale now and again. Arrange a child share scheme with a couple of friends so that you can go out somewhere alone one afternoon a week.
