Balance carried down is use when we total the both sides i.e; Dr. And Cr. Then if dr side is more like it is Rs 100 and cr side is Rs 80 then we use Rs 20 (100-80) on cr side which is carried down and use Rs 20 on dr side which is b/d. Ok
