Although Calcium as a component of lime had been used as a component of lime since the time of Romans, however, it was separated out in 1808 by Sir Humphrey Davy, an Englishman. He separated calcium by passing the electricity from the solution of lime and mercuric acid. Therefore, the credit of calcium discovery was given to Sir Humphrey Davy.
