Is Eating Meat Healthy?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Cow and pig meat are not healthy for people.  Cow and pig meat have a lot of cholesterol and saturated fat.  People today are getting way too much cholesterol and saturated fat in their diet.  That leads to clogged arteries.  And that is why heart disease is the number one killer in America.

So if you want to have a healthy diet, ditch the cow and pig meat or save it for special occasions.  When they're not fried, chicken and turkey are a lot better than cow and pig.  You can check the nutrition information on packages of chicken and turkey lunch meat at your local store, but they're generally pretty low on saturated fat and cholesterol.

Or you can explore a healthy meatless diet.  A vegetarian diet can be difficult to do right.  But when it is done right, it's very healthy.  If you want to try it, make sure you eat a variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, and nuts.
