Mercer is wrong pronunciation of MRSA. Many peoples listen this word on telephone from doctor and pronounce mercer instead of MRSA.
MRSA is abbreviation of methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus. These are bacteria which can cause infections on skin. They attack on wounds, cuts and burns. These bacteria can also cause systemic infections if inhaled. These are acquired from hospital and community through direct contact with infected person. MRSA  are difficult to treat because these bacteria are resistant to many antibiotics. But can be treated with antibiotic shots like vancomycin for 10 days.
