As of today, there is no definite and approved cure for cancer. However there are a lot of treatments that have been shown to be of great help and in many cases can cure a cancer patient but it depends on how far the cancer has progressed. Conventional treatment options are radiation, chemotherapy, surgery and immunotherapy all of which are acceptable and effective though they tend to have unpleasant side effects. These cures are used either alone or in combination to try and eliminate the disease or at least control it. There are over 200 types of cancer and over half a million Americans die of it every year. There are also alternative cancer treatments too ranging from Antioxidants, Arsenic, Boluses, and Castor Oil Packs to Chinese Bitter Melon, Germanium and Garlic. Homeopathy is also shown to be beneficial.
There are newer technologies that are being explored in the hope of finding a cure. Cancer nanotechnology as well as cancer-resistant White blood cells are just two of the many fields being researched. A strain of cancer-resistant mice has been bred with positive results even in cases where the cancer has spread. Vitamin B17 is another supposed cure for cancer and many scientists claim that if consumed regularly can either prevent or cure cancer.
