Saint Theresa of Avila according to religion known as Teresa de Jesus, and later baptized as Teresa de Cepeda y Ahumada, basically was a key person of the Catholic Reformation as a well-known Spanish spiritualist and novelist and even as a Spartan reformer.
She was originally born at Avila, which is located approximately 53 miles north-west of Madrid, and eventually expired at Alba de Tormes. The feast day dedicated to her is October 15th, and is said to be one of the only three female doctors of the Church.
In the year 1534, at the young age of twenty she left her parents home and decided to join the monastery of the embodiment of the Carmelite nuns at Avila. The motivation to give superficial practical expression to her inward motive was encouraged in Teresa by Peter of Alcantara.
