Where Is The Atomic Mass Found?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Atomic mass refers to the sum of protons and neutrons in an atom's nucleus. It is the combined mass of all the particles that constitute an atom. The atom's mass is denoted by atomic mass unit. It is also known as atomic weight, relative atomic mass and average atomic mass. It is define as the average of all atomic masses of the atoms isotopes in a particular environment.
Atomic mass is mostly found in the protons and neutrons of the nucleus, it is concentrated on them and is very close to mass number. Thus the vast majority is in the nucleus or nuclide. It is calculated with the help of relative abundance of isotopes in a naturally-occurring element.

Don't know why you ask a question that you know the answer too, or why you actually did not answer the question that was inferred by yourself. Atomic mass is found on the periodic table. You did not ask what atomic mass is.
