    The first and foremost skill that is expected in sales manager is the ability to motivate people. If he is able to motivate his team members to perform the job, then certainly he will be able to achieve the target and even excel in them. The reason behind my mentioning this skill as among the foremost one is that a business strategy execution is team work and where every member has to play a certain role in achieving the target. So when the leader is able to motivate them, the result is bound to be positive.
            
    The next ability that is expected in a sales manager is to keep cool even in not so happy moments and it gives an extra boost in the confidence of the team members. So I would recommend you to imbue these qualities in yourself and go up on the ladder of corporate leadership.
