Kingston, North Carolina is actually Kinston, North Carolina. Kinston was incorporated back in the year 1762 as 'Kingston' named for King George III. This city may be found in Lenoir County, United States. It was the winding up of the American Revolutionary War that meant a modification in the name in the year 1784, changing it to Kinston.

Another interesting point is that the year 1833 brought with it a change in the name Kinston to Caswell, to honour the governor. However the name reverted to Kinston just the following year.

It is currently the county seat of Lenoir County. Kinston can be found at 35°16′14″N, 77°35′6″W (that is, 35.270676, -77.585130). It is positioned in North Carolina's area known as the Inner Banks region. For the city's official webpage visit www.ci.kinston.nc.us.
