Easingwold is a minute market town place is North Yorkshire, England, it is placed thirteen miles north of York, at the base of Howardian Hills. The name Easingwold has been derived from the Anglo Saxon period. King John had built a hunting lodge in Easingwold and would usually go hunting in the Royal Forest of Galtres which used to border this area earlier.
The existing mayor and chairman of the council is Shirley Shepherd. It was circumvented by the A19 in the year 1994. Easingwold School is said to be the biggest school in the entire region housing more that thirteen hundred students. The town has many buses plying up and down from the nearby towns, villages and also from the city of York.
