How To Sing Well?

If you don't want to pay for private singing lessons, I think the first step is to recognize if you can match pitch. If you have a piano or keyboard at home, try to play a key and match the pitch you hear. Or you could sing a pitch and try to match it with the piano and go from there. If you can't tell the difference, then ask someone to check if you can match pitch. Once you match pitch, move up to the next note so you can find your voice range (how high and low your voice can go). Then you'll know if the songs you want to sing are in your range or not. When you sing these songs, don't try to sound like the person singing, be yourself. Let your voice be natural and sing from your heart. Singing is a skill. It takes practice.
