The state employee will verify your identity, then check the voter rolls and tell you whether or not you’re registered, and if you were registered by the deadline for the next election.

You are probably registered; if so, you'll automatically receive voting papers before the next election. However if you want to check, you could find the contact details of the office where you sent your application, and give them a call. If you don't have the details, you can ask for them at your nearest council or administrative office.
