How Much Notice Does Landlord Have To Give Tennant That Lease Will Not Be Renewed?
I live in TX. My lease is up on Oct. 1st. My landlord has just given me 2 weeks notice that the home is being sold and lease will not be renewed. Is this possible?

Usually, the landlord only has to give you the same notice you would give him if you were moving out. This is totally different from eviction procedures, which are done to remedy a wrong, such as non-payment of rent, or destructive or illegal behavior by the tenant, etc. If they require a 30 day notice to vacate from you, the same should apply from them. When a lease term is up, most areas allow for a month to month unwritten agreement to continue. Juist because the lease is up does not mean you MUST move. The terms of the old lease apply; however, some areas allow the landlord to charge you a higher rate of rent for a month to month agreement.
