One place to start is enterprise nation where you can find good tips and advice for homeworkers. I wouldn't forget the Blurtit search window either; quite a few people have asked this question and you might get some good ideas.
The main thing is to avoid any offers that seem too good to be true. There is legitimate work to be found, including odd website writing jobs, but it rarely pays well, especially at first. If you have a special skill, such as audio typing or clerical skills, you're more likely to find better paid work - you could type keywords in and see what comes up. Good luck.
