    Michael Imperioli is an American actor, who is probably most famous for playing the character of Christopher Moltisanti in television gangster drama 'The Sopranos'.

    James Michael Imperioli was born on the 26th of March 1966 in Mount Vernon, New York.
    After completing his full-time education, Imperioli began to get minor roles in films in the late 1980s. However it was his appearance as Spider in 'The Goodfellas' in 1990 that would earn him recognition.

    During the 1990s he spent a great deal of time acting and writing for the New York theatres. However he also starred in films such as 'Jungle Fever', 'Malcolm X' and 'Clockers'. He co-wrote and was the executive producer for Spike Lee's 'Summer of Sam' in 1999.

    In the same year, he was cast as Christopher Moltisanti in 'The Sopranos' where he stars opposite James Gandolfini and Lorraine Bracco. The show has been running for six seasons since. He was awarded an Emmy for his role.

    In his personal life, Imperioli is married and has three children.
