Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Albert Hall or the Royal Albert Hall is located at Westminster in London, England. It is located opposite Hyde Park on Kensington Gore Street, London SW7 2A. It's Adjacent to Jays Mews and between Exhibition Road and Queen's gate. Prince Consort Road passes parallel to Kensington Gore on the other side of The Royal Albert Hall.

The hall was originally to be named The Central Hall of Arts and Sciences but was renamed by Queen Victoria, dedicating it to her husband Prince Albert instead just before she laid the foundation stone.

The Hall is now more a less a national monument and landmark. It has made several television appearances in film and music.

The hall was designed by Colonel Darracott Scott and Captain Francis Fowke and opened in 1971, at a ceremony at which the Queen was present. She was too overcome by emotion and Edward the Prince of Wales conveyed her sentiment that the hall was now open in her stead.
