    Bridge has its origin in Old English and taken from the word 'brycg'. Generally, it is a structure built over a river or roadway and provides passage to walk over. The human nose has an upper bony part called bridge. In musical instruments, a small piece of wood that supports the strings on the sound board is called a bridge. Bridge is used to indicate some other things like the long stick used to play billiards. One uses this stick to steady the cue.

    One of the important things that is denoted by the term bridge is an instrument having an electrical use. This instrument is used to measure the inductance or impedance of a conductor. In chemistry, bridge is a bond or between molecules or atoms. As a verb, bridge is 'to build a bridge' or 'to cross by using a bridge'. A card game played by four people is also named bridge.
