Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The period is seven years when information stays on the credit report. But if you are talking about the personal data that includes your name and address also, you can say that it has no predetermined expiration terms. But this condition is for positive records only and when it comes to the negative records, there are certain criteria for each of the terms.

If you take the case of bankruptcy, it requires ten years for the filing of chapter seven and if you are taking the chapter thirteen, it stands at seven years. For the charge of, the time limit is seven years and for enquiries it takes only two years. But there are two different criteria for closed accounts and it stands at seven years if the account is being paid late and there is no expiration if the account was always being paid on time.
