You might enjoy Ursula le Guin's Earthsea trilogy (Wizard of Earthsea, Tombs of Atuan, Farthest Shore.) Actually she has added a couple more since, but they aren't quite the same. The first of these used to be classed as a children's book, but as with Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy, thousands of adults have read and loved them.
There are also the Anne Rice novels - "Interview With the Vampire" etc - not a trilogy but very readable if you haven't tried them yet. Hope you enjoy some of these.
