Where Is Milwaukee?

The city of Milwaukee is located in the state of Wisconsin. Wisconsin is a state in the northern part of the United States of America. Milwaukee is the largest city in the state of Wisconsin. It is also the 22nd largest city in the United States of America.

It is the largest city in the metropolitan area covered by the three cities of Milwaukee, Racine and Waukesha. Of the combined population of the Milwaukee-Racine-Waukesha Metropolitan Area, which is estimated to be approximately 1, 753, 355, out of which the population of the city of Milwaukee is estimated to be about 578, 887 according to the United States Census estimated conducted in the year 2005.

The nicknames of Milwaukee are Cream City, Mil Town, Brew City (because of its history as a city having a large number of major breweries) and The City of Festivals (owing to the number of ethnic and music festivals that take place in Milwaukee every year).    

Milwaukee is a city in southeast Wisconsin on the banks of Lake Michigan. It was set up as a trading post mainly for fur in the year 1795. it was also the chief  location for germans to immigrate in the course of the late 19th century. This city was famous for its breweries and meat packing factories. Milwaukee is the largest city in wisconsin housing around 583,000 people.

It is often called as the cream city due to its large production of cream coloured bricks. It has also earned the title of brew city owing to its large number of breweries and is also know by the sobriquet of german athens as it was once populated with germans. It is still well known for its traditional festivals and creative city government.
