No, because kids answering some questions are very hard on other kids, and this site is made so that all people are free here to ask and answer. Besides, some kids can be very hurtful to other kids, and some kids don't take that well at all. Others are really more mature than others and fit in better with the adults. I have seen that over and over with my kids. So, with that being said, I think that all kids should be allowed, just like adults, whether they are grown up or not also. Hope this helps.

Freedom is exactly what this site is about!
Yes, it does help and now after reading the answers from 7 people, I realize I should have worded my question differently ! I thank you for your response.
exactly Tigg. Like I said in my answer my sister is very mature for an 8 yr old. Shes as smart and mature as an 8th grader actually! Seriously I'm not kidding. I think you did a good job answering Tigg!
No because this is where kids, teens, and adults can answer questions freely. Also what if it makes someone feel bad for their age. Like I have an 8 yr old sis and she is as mature and smart as an 8th grader so it would upset her to only answer questions people her age can answer if she was on her.
Maybe yes because what if a kid saw a question about sex or something inappropriate for their age.
So idk really. I think mostly no though.

similar to this one but worded differently !!!
I, personally, don't feel they should be. At least, I haven't seen a reason to do so yet. I think it's healthy that you get answers to questions from all ages and all walks of life and experiences. I value answers from young people just as much as I value the answers from older people such as myself.

Age Groups?? Not at all... There may be a possible 16+ or 18+ limit for some Questions but at the time of registration, isn't it so easy for someone to lie about their age?? I think all questions should be open, after all, the next generation always has more knowledge than us, so it's not like we can really hide anything from them...

Thanks, my next question pertaining to this will be worded differently.
I agree about the lying about the age part. For example what if I was 11 and I said I was 16. Everyone would think I'm 16. (Actually I am 16 but this is an example lol). So anyone can lie about their age. Even though I don't think kids even know about this site. Their too busy playing kid games on Club Penguin and miniclip.com. Those are sites my sister plays,
I think thats a good idea. But its a security issue with parents. In order to ask a question on your system said person would have to give their age and thats a no-no with parents. I can say my age cause i don't care what my parents think. I'm 17. But to a 13 year old its a security issue. But i would make things easier. Cause you can break your answer down to simpler terms with a younger person.

Good grief, questions aren't even in the right category to begin with. How can anyone possible moderate an age group.

Thank you for your answer, I now realize my question shoud have been worded differently.
I understand where your comming from, and what you would like to see accomplished. Great idea in theory, impossible, to undertake.
May be they can go for adult(pornographic) questions and ask user to set age limit on that questions so that only users who gave their age above that mentioned age at time of registration can see that questions.
But, then age can be easily faked to see that adult(pornographic) question. So, breaking down questions into age groups might end up in vain efforts.

Eh not really, what's the point...just filter the answers you like and ignore the 13 year olds yourself. If you're talking about the "Adult Section" for non-porn adult issues, then that might be a good idea, but not to simply exclude little kids from answering your questions. But i would kind of like to see that in the debate section, oh wait, is there even a debate section in the first place?

I just think blurtit should do a better job of screening the questions and know when a question should and should not be allowed, I think young people asking questions about their personal and private body parts should be directed back to their parents or the parents should do a better job as screening and talk to their children more and make them feel comfortable talking with them we have 12 and 13 year olds asking about sex acts, I think this is a question for ones parents, I would not answer that could be a law suit when mom or dad wants to know who told you that......the best to you that is my story and I'm sticking to it

How do you think it would work in practice? Would questions just be flagged as adult in nature, and put someplace else?
Thank you for your answer, did not realize I was going to start a verbal war !!!!
I'm sort of "on the fence" about this one. Some kids are too embarrassed to ask their parents questions so I think it's a good thing that they can get answers here IF the answers are accurate and do not send the wrong message to any person of any age. BUT I once read a question from someone asking a question that sounded like it was coming from a 10 year old. I answered the question as if this person WAS 10 years old and mistakenly angered this person. They wrote back, telling me they were 19 years old and not to treat him like a child..(sorry) Sometimes it's very hard to tell an age group in typed words if the question asker does not tell their age.

I agree, I think it should be free for all, with the exception that abusive, obscene, or otherwise objectionable contributions should be weeded out by the staff, as now.

No, I created such a turmoil, that I dropped it !! I have no problem with the ages of anyone that participates on Blurtit, I just get tired of screening idiotic questions !!
