    Australia is a constitutional democracy and has a parliamentary system so it does not have a president, it has a prime minister. Australia is also a common wealth nation and like all the other common wealth nations, Australia has a governor general who serves as the representative of the current British Monarch which makes Queen Victoria II is the head of state. The queen does not take any active part in government and politics but is just a representative. The current governor general for Australia is Ms. Quentin Bryce and the prime minister is Mr. Kevin Michael Rudd.
