There are three common ways:
1. You buy a fax machine and connect it to a phone line
2. You set up your computer with a fax modem and hook that one up to a phone line
3. You buy the services of one of the many fax services out there that designate a unique fax number to you and forward all incoming faxes to the e-Mail address you specified upon setup. Faxes are often forwarded as TIF or PDF files.
