I was never good at riddles, so am afraid I cannot help you...

..I did notice, however, that you are using the dollar sign incorrectly!!!!!!!!!!

It goes BEFORE the number, not after: $1, not 1$.........

Just thought I'd pass that along!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who knows, its a riddle right? And it looks like it says a dollar, not a penny.

I would just give each person $1.66 each in change from the $75.00~~~ BTW, If they each spent $24.00, than your equation is incorrect. 24 x 3=72.  If the bill really was $70 then they each spent $23.33 and they all should receive $1.66 change like I said in the beginning. There would then be a penny floating around somewhere, but you could throw that in the tip jar.

I believe it is still at the hotel....or the man that paid back four dollars instead of the five...I would just handed back a five and said you divide it...1.66 $ each  leaving .02 cents

If the bill was $70, each of the three owe 23.33, and if the clerk wants to give the change split up three ways, he would give $ 1.67 to each.
Usually these types of riddles compare a correct sum to a sum that would appear should add up to the same number, when in fact apples and oranges are being compared.

He kept it as a tip. Actually, your math makes no sense here as the figures you have presented do not add up correctly.

I think the bearer has kept the dollar.Although it seems like he paid them back to much because you say ''he gives each $3 '' then you say ''Now he gives $2 to 2 persons''.Let me know what the answer is this is a good one.

The third person didn't pay $24. He kept the a dollar and split the other $2 with the other two.
I guess... Ahaha I suck in math. Let me know what the answer is ok.

When the $5 is refunded, the figure $75 is totally irrelevant.  $70 is the relevant figure now...the actual cost of the meal.  One paid $23, another paid $23 and the third paid $24...$23 + $23 + $24 = $70.  This is a case of trying to solve a problem while having the wrong information.  Kinda reminds ya of political campaigns, doesn't it?
