I was never good at riddles, so am afraid I cannot help you...
..I did notice, however, that you are using the dollar sign incorrectly!!!!!!!!!!
It goes BEFORE the number, not after: $1, not 1$.........
Just thought I'd pass that along!!!!!!!!!!!!

A beer for 1 penny? LOL
Who knows, its a riddle right? And it looks like it says a dollar, not a penny.
I would just give each person $1.66 each in change from the $75.00~~~ BTW, If they each spent $24.00, than your equation is incorrect. 24 x 3=72. If the bill really was $70 then they each spent $23.33 and they all should receive $1.66 change like I said in the beginning. There would then be a penny floating around somewhere, but you could throw that in the tip jar.

I believe it is still at the hotel....or the man that paid back four dollars instead of the five...I would just handed back a five and said you divide it...1.66 $ each leaving .02 cents

If the bill was $70, each of the three owe 23.33, and if the clerk wants to give the change split up three ways, he would give $ 1.67 to each.
Usually these types of riddles compare a correct sum to a sum that would appear should add up to the same number, when in fact apples and oranges are being compared.
Here is a similar one with solution:

He kept it as a tip. Actually, your math makes no sense here as the figures you have presented do not add up correctly.

I think the bearer has kept the dollar.Although it seems like he paid them back to much because you say ''he gives each $3 '' then you say ''Now he gives $2 to 2 persons''.Let me know what the answer is this is a good one.

The third person didn't pay $24. He kept the a dollar and split the other $2 with the other two.
I guess... Ahaha I suck in math. Let me know what the answer is ok.

When the $5 is refunded, the figure $75 is totally irrelevant. $70 is the relevant figure now...the actual cost of the meal. One paid $23, another paid $23 and the third paid $24...$23 + $23 + $24 = $70. This is a case of trying to solve a problem while having the wrong information. Kinda reminds ya of political campaigns, doesn't it?

Lol... By the way your math sounds very correct & understanding. Ahaha can I get a tutor from you?
There is confusion in your statement as it can be taken 3 ways,
No.1
1) 3 men x $25 =75
2) Eating =$70
3) 3 men x $25=$75 to Bearer
4) Bearer owes change $75 payment - $70 Lunch =$5 change
5) Bearer gives each $3 = $3 x 3men=$9change returned to men
6) 3 men x$25=75, $25 - $3 change = $22 each man spent
7) Bearer gives $2 x 2 men=$4, Two men get $3 +$2 =$5 returned to 2 men, $25-$5=$20 spent x by 2 men=$40spent by 2 men
8) One man spent $25 - $3=$22 spent by one man
9) 3 men spent for diner 2men=40, 1man =22, $40+$22=62 or $20+$20+$22=$62 - Bearer undercharged the men $8
No 2.
1) 3 men x $25 =75
2) Eating =$70
3) 3 men x $25=$75 to Bearer
4) Bearer owes change $75 payment - $70 Lunch =$5 change
5) Bearer gives $3change = $3/3men=$1change returned to men
6) 3 men x$25=75, $25 - $1 change = $24 each man spent
7) Bearer gives $2 x 2 men=$4, Two men get $1 +$2 =$3 returned to 2 men, $25-$3=$22 spent x by 2 men=$44spent by 2 men
8) One man spent $25 - $1=$24 spent by one man
9) 3 men spent for diner 2men=44, 1man =24, $44+$24=$68 or $22+$22+$24=$68 - Bearer undercharged the men $2
No. 3
7) Bearer gives $1 x 2 men=$2, Two men get $1 +$1 =$2 returned to 2 men, $25-$2=$23 spent x by 2 men=$46spent by 2 men
8) One man spent $25 - $1=$24 spent by one man
9) 3 men spent for diner 2men=$46, 1man =$24, $46+$24=$70 or $23+$23+$24=$70 - Bearer charged the men $70, 2 men owe one man $0.50 each or $0.50+$0.50=$1.00.

I'm low in math. Please don't get offended but wow you got many ways to say this. All I see is bearer, change, men, and a lot of numbers only LOL!
I'm not offended! I was not sure if it was your question to answer as is or if it was presented to you in this state. That is why I gave you all three answers as it was written. There is no problem at all, relax! I'm trying to help you out!
