    Dovetail Joint is a type of technique that is used for woodworking joinery. This technique is also known as dovetail. The technique is mainly appreciated for its resistance and tensile strength, this technique enables the joint from suffering any damage while being pulled apart. The dovetail is commonly used to connect the sides of a drawer to its front. The dovetail joint is a very old technique; it probably even exceeds written history.

    Some examples of dovetail joints are the ancient furniture in which mummies were entombed; this almost dates back to the First Dynasty of Ancient Egypt. They were also found in tombs of Chinese emperors. The pins and tails of a dovetail joint is trapezoidal in shape, once they have been glued they are fixed permanently, this joints require no other mechanical fasteners.
