Why Do Men Win More Than Women At Wimbledon, Is This Going To Change?

As a long running debate on why Wimbledon pays more to men players than women players Wimbledon will argue that women play only three sets while men have to struggle through five therefore men deserve more money. Also it is said that women can play three events and the men have to battle their way through one therefore women can choose to earn more than the men. They say that the top 10 women players earned 4% more prize money than the top 10 men. While Wimbledon's argument is purely financial some will say otherwise. Of the 19 people on the committee who come up with the prize money only two are women. Some say that it is very convenient for the men to end up with more than the women with a committee that has so little women to men ratio. Some will also say that it is quality not quantity and that women can play 3 great games while the men play 5 average games. Regardless of what everyone is saying It is not said that "We are going to watch the men play at Wimbledon". It is always said "We are going to Wimbledon". Wimbledon is the best of the best playing tennis. With other major tennis events making pay equal maybe Wimbledon will follow or as history has shown Wimbledon will prove to stand as one of a kind.
