How Do You Make A Scrapbook On The Great Migration?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The great migration was the moving of numerous African Americans out of the rural part of the United States in the south. It went on for a period of thirty- six years, from 1914 to 1950. The majority of the participants of the migration went to industrialised regions like New York, Pennsylvania, Chicago, California etc.

The extent of this migration can be best witnessed in Detroit, which saw a sudden jump in population at that time.

In order to make a scrapbook about this phenomenon, firstly collect all the information you can, including newspaper clippings, articles about the migration etc. Pictures regarding this will be hard to find, as it was an event that spanned many years, unlike wars and battles. Also, find out if you can, living people or descendants of those who were involved in the migration. This will give the scrapbook a highly personalised feel.
