Why Was Australia Involved In The Vietnam War?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

The reason Australia entered the war is widely debated, and it is a question that will probably remain unanswered. The two main reasons are:
    A) South Vietnam asked us (after the USA put pressure on them to do so)

    and

    b) The USA asked us to help them out. The USA entered because they were at war with USSR at the time, and Russia entering to help the Communist North was seen as a challenge to America.
