The Marine basic training is also relatively easy since only 11% of those civilians who begin the training actually fail. For a military service (Marines) who think they are elite, that's a very low failure rate. To earn the title "Marine" it only takes 12 weeks. If you compare this to the other elite military titles like, Rangers, SEALS, Special Forces or even Army Paratroops, the Marines don't stand up very well.
