If You Cannot Find A U.K. Birth Certificate At The Records Office, What Do You Do Next?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

If you cannot find the birth certificate, it may be possible that the person may have been born in the UK, but it was not registered. The Family Records Myddleton Place, London EC1 has information about all births, deaths and marriages since 1837. Try if there is any information in the local Register Office. You may also try at LDS family history centres and major libraries. You can also look if there are any records online at FreeBMD.org.uk You may also try at www.findmypast.com/HomeServlet where you can get pay per view of digitalized images of birth certificates.  Approach these government agencies for help. Give proof of your someone closely related to you like your father or mother to substantiate your claim.
