    Complementary angles add to 90°.

    The same idea is extended to modulo arithmetic and to percentages. In general, numbers that are complementary add to some constant that depends on the kind of complement you are talking about.

    Examples
      60° is complementary to the angle 30°
      80% is complementary to 20%
      8 is complementary to 1 in modulo 9 arithmetic
      1010011 is the 1s complement of 0101100 and the 2s complement of 0101101 in 7-bit binary arithmetic
