My Cat Had Kittens 16 Weeks Ago, We Have Kept Two Of Them, They Are Still Nursing From Their Mother, Who Is Encouraging Them To Feed, Is This Normal And Should I Allow It To Continue?

I don't want to stop them if it is not going to harm her, but a friend told me that if I allowed it to continue, she would be at risk of mastitis.

It is normal that they are nursing from their mother. Nature is encouraging them to feed. You must allow it to continue as this is pretty normal.

This reply does not answer the point of the question. Can this behavior cause mastitis?
