Don't know about the 1800 but I do know my grandfather used to cook for his dogs, he had a farm and he made bread and cooked it on top of the stove and would mix other things in the dogs bowl and that is what he fed them, I have seen him bake corn bread and feed his dogs, flour, wheat, and corn meal was plentiful then also, he raised pigs would cook the fat meat and feed the dogs....the best to you

They fed them poo did u no that when people went to th bathroom in there bucket they threw it on the street then there dogs ate it
