Another study conducted by Union Bank of Switzerland across 70 cities in the world in the same year found Montreal to be a quite affordable city to live. And this study was conducted in accordance with European standard as the bank itself is based in Europe. They compared the prices of 111 goods and services and set the prices in Zurich as the standard. When the prices in Zurich was at 100 in case of food, in London it was 69.3 and in Montreal it was only 62.6; in case of services the prices were 113.9 for London and 61.0 for Montreal; for public transport the prices in Montreal were only 56.5 when it was 78.9 in case of London.
