Things you will need: Pen, Paper, Envelope, Your bank account number, Your home address. Optional Items: Dictionary - to check spelling, Stamp - If your not going to hand the letter into the bank personally.

State in the letter who you are, what your bank account number is, your address for them to send the reply, how much you would like the overdraft to be set at and your thanks for them taking the time and effort to try and accommodate you.  Finish it by signing it and either hand it in to a teller at the bank or mail it to them marked for the attention of Account Services Department.  Job done.
