Unknown mystery as to why they hate water but a great alternative is waterless shampoo, you can find it at any pet supply store for less than $10 and has at least 20-30 washes depending on your cats size. You rub the shampoo all over them and take a damp towel and rub it off. You will be surprised how much dirt you take off and how clean your cat smells and feels. This is what most groomers use and they charge you upwards of $30. You may need to slightly brush your cat afterwards. Takes less than 10 min's.

Why cats hate water who knows !!! I have two persian cats that had to be groomed I watched at the groomer last week how she did it... Mid you they didn't like it but they sell a carrier type box with a meshed top you put them in there and close it and wet them down then open the top and grab them by the back skin of the neck and soap them up then back in the carrier to rinse off it really worked and my cats are crazy instead buying the carrier I got an old plastic milk creat and put it over them in the tub it wasn't as easy but it worked you can also have someone make a top for it with a hinge and latch hope that helps

wipes that are especially made to clean kittens. You can buy it at any pet
store. :]
