Does A Landlord Have To Give "Written" Notice Or Just "Verbal",for A Rent Increase, To Be Legal ?

I was given a verbal notice,and was wondering if by 10/2/08,if he hasn't given it to me in writing,if I still have to pay the LARGE increase ?

    i think that it has to in writing. It should be in with your lease.

      I'd say it has to be in writing because anybody could say "Well, I TOLD them it was going to be so much more a month..." Thats just hear say to a courts eye.

        It has to be written where I live and given 60 days before the said increase. Type in where you live _____ landlord tenant laws and see what the law is in your area.
