Parvo are small viruses which cause infections in dogs, cats, and some other animals. These viruses can affect lymphatic system and intestine of the infected animal causing nausea, vomiting and bloody diarrhea.

All strains of Parvovirus of dogs are highly contagious and can affect only dogs, foxes and wolves. Cats can be infected by different viruses called feline parvovirus.

There are 2 types of canine parvovirus called CPV1 and CPV2. CPV2 has many strains like CPV2a, CPV2b and CPV2c.  However, CPV2a and CPV2b have also been reported in cats.

Most usually, canine parvovirus are species specific and will not affect other animals including cats. But you should get proper diagnosis to check the presence of CPV2a and CPV2b. If these viruses are present then your cat has chance to get it from your dog.
