What Do You Know About The World Trade Center?

          The world trade center was located in new york city, was composed of seven buildings, which were mostly designed by American architect Minoru Yamasaki and made by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. It came into existence in 1960 and was created by Lower Manhattan Association, it's chairman was David Rockefeller, who gave the original idea of building the Center and was completely supported by his brother
Nelson Rockefeller, who was the governor of New York City. The recent contract regarding the land was held by Larry Silverstein, the Port Authority gave him the contract on July of 2001.

          The Center was located in the heart of  New York City's downtown financial district, which contained 13.4 million square feet of working and office space, comparatively it was almost four percent of  Manhattan's entire office inventory. It is also best knows for its iconic 110-story twin buildings. The Trade Center was destroyed by a fire on February 13, 1975 and a blast on February 26, 1993. but in the attack of September 11, 2001 all the surroundings buildings were destroyed including the Center itself. In addition to all this, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church which wasn't the part of the complex was also destroyed by the collapsion of  World Trade Centre.

The World Trade Center (WTC) was situated in the heart of New York City, New York, United States of America. It had two similar looking buildings and the center was also known as the 'Twin Towers'. Each of the towers had 110 stories. The two buildings were commercial buildings had more than a thousand corporate offices and many headquarters of many companies. Over a million people use to access the towers on a daily basis. It had more than two million employees working there on a day to day basis.

The towers were destroyed in on September 11, 2001 by a terrorist attack when two airplanes were rammed in both of the towers and both the towers came crashing down killing almost two million people and many of them missing. The estimated loss was beyond a hundred million dollars. The new World Trade Center is under construction with five towers this time and one of them is going to be called as Freedom Tower. The construction will end in the year of 2012.
