What Did Jimmy Carter Do That Was Important?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The most important things Jimmy Carter did were:

    A) become weak on foreign policy, which resulted in the taking of hostages in Iran for 444 days, and who were released the day Jimmy Carter left office.

    B) allow domestic economies to run amuck in terms of mortgage and credit card interest rates, and in the price of oil.

The good news about this is twofold:

Jimmy Carter's presidency brought us Ronald Reagan, strong on both foreign and domestic policy.

Jimmy's Carter's presidency is an excellent comparison to today's current Obama foreign and domestic policies.  We are seeing rogue nations become more belligerant, interest rates begin their uptick in response to economic stimulus money, and our relevancy on the world stage is greatly diminished.  These policies, doomed to fail as Carter's will yield another strong Republican president.
