What Is Earth Quake Zone?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

An earthquake zone which is also referred to as seismic area is an area of the earth's crust in which movements occur. Sometimes these movements are associated with volcanic activity. In plain words, it is referred to the area where earthquakes normally occur. Some parts of the earth are very sensitive and highly reactive to sudden release of energies.

These energy releases often cause the earth's crust in that area to shake suddenly for a couple of seconds or minutes even sometimes. These earthquakes usually cause massive damage to the earth and if it occurs in places of human habitat they cause heavy injuries to property and people. They sometimes even cause the earth's crust to separate and create gorges.

They even cause tsunamis if they occur on a high frequency in mid seas. The tsunami that hit parts of South East Asia two years back was caused due to earth quakes only.
